About Art of Living

What is the Art of Living?
To subscribe to the digital version of the Art of Living magazine you can visit the Subscribe page on this site and choose between the monthly or annual payment plan.
Is the digital version of the Art of Living exactly the same as the print version?
The content of both the digital and print versions is the same, but as the digital version is web-based and created for different screen-sizes, the visual style looks different.
What is available on the new Art of Living website?
As well as the digital version of the monthly Art of Living magazine, which will be available with a paid subscription, there will be some non-subscription content for members and non-members who sign up. This will include a ‘News’ section, which we are planning to launch before the end of 2023. There will also be some introductory articles that can be read without subscribing or signing up, as well as an Audio Library with recordings of the monthly Gosho study.
Can I read the digital Art of Living on my mobile phone?
Yes! You can access this website from your mobile, tablet and desktop devices using your internet browser.

Subscriptions

How can I subscribe to the digital Art of Living?
To subscribe to the digital version of the Art of Living magazine you can visit the Subscribe page on this site and choose between the monthly or annual payment plan.
How much does it cost to subscribe to the digital Art of Living in the UK?
You can subscribe to the digital Art of Living online with options for monthly (£3) and annual (£36) subscriptions.
Can people living abroad access the digital Art of Living?
It is possible to set up an annual subscription to the digital version from another country via the website and the rates are similar to the overseas subscription for the print version. For members living in Europe the cost is £55 per year and for the rest of the world the cost is £57 per year.
What is the advantage of an annual subscription?
An annual subscription may be more convenient as you only need to make a single payment each year. There is also an advantage for SGI-UK as an extra fee is charged for each subscription transaction, which is currently absorbed by SGI-UK so as not to increase the subscription cost. So, if you are able to take out an annual subscription, SGI-UK will only pay one transaction fee rather than twelve.
Will my subscription auto-renew?
All subscriptions will renew automatically so you don’t need to be reminded. There is the option to turn off auto-renew if you need to. To do this, please click on 'Turn off Auto-renew' on the Account page, this will stop the auto-renewal - and you will still have access until the end of your subscription period.
I haven't received my login link after Sign Up or Sign In
Please check the junk or spam folder of your email for the magic link. Please also add noreply@artofliving.sgi-uk.org to your address book so you don't miss our emails in the future.

If you still don't see a link in your Inbox or Spam/Junk folders, please contact subscriptions@sgi-uk.org so we can help you troubleshoot.
Can I share my digital Art of Living log-in details with other members and guests in my district?
No, this subscription is for you only. Please encourage them to take out a subscription for themselves. There will also be some free content available on the digital platform for new or non-members without a paid subscription.
What if I have a subscription to the paper Art of Living and I want to swap to the digital version?
You will have to cancel your subscription to the print version and start a new subscription to the digital version. For the online Art of Living, you will need to add in your debit or credit card details via the Subscriptions page on website. Unlike the print version, it will not be possible to subscribe via the admin department.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds for annual print subscriptions that are cancelled midway so you may wish to wait till the end of your print subscription before swapping to the digital version.
I have subscribed to the monthly plan. How do I change to the yearly plan?
If you have an active subscription to a monthly plan and want to switch to the yearly plan, please click on 'Turn off Auto-renew' and end your current subscription, which will stop it from auto-renewing. You will then be able to switch plans at the end of your current subscription period.

Eg., you have turned off to auto-renew and your subscription is due to end on 31 September. You will be able to start a yearly subscription on 1 October.
Can I subscribe to the print Art of Living through this website?
The print version of the magazine will use the same subscription form as before, which is on the back page of every print Art of Living magazine and on the members-only website. You can only subscribe to the digital Art of Living through this website.

How to use the digital Art of Living website

How can I get help using this website?
For information on how to use this website, please visit the Help Videos page.
How can I create a shortcut for the AOL website on the homescreen of my device?
Android phone or tablet: Open the AOL website on your Chrome browser, click on the options button (⋮) and click on 'Add to Home Screen'. Then click on 'Install' and this will create a shortcut on your home screen and you can access the site easily.
Apple iPhone or iPad: Open the AOL website on your Safari browser, tap on the share button, which appears at the bottom like a square with an arrow pointing upwards. Scroll down and tap on 'Add to Home Screen'. Choose a name for the shortcut and click add. This will create a shortcut icon on your home screen and you can now access the site by simply tapping on it.
Any other Operating System: Please use the Chrome browser and follow the instructions for Android above.
I have paid and signed up but I am unable to read the articles on the website?
To complete your sign up, you need to click the link that has been emailed to you on the email address you have registered with. Please check your inbox for the email with this link. You can also visit the website and resend this email link to yourself. It may also land up in the Spam or Junk folder of your email.
I have signed up and clicked on the link in the email on my phone, do I also need to sign up to the website on my PC?
Yes, the link sent to your email is for you to sign in on the same device, rather than verify your email address (ie, it is not a verification link). When using the same internet browser, on the same device, without clearing any cookies, you should only be required to sign in once every six months. Please note that you will need to repeat the sign up process if you're using a different browser or device.
Why do I keep needing to sign in every time I want to read the Art of Living?
To prevent having to sign in to the website every time, please make sure your email link is opening in the same browser as the one which you used to sign in with. This may happen due to your computer or phone's settings which will open the the link in a default browser, which may not be the same as the one you signed up on.
When using the same internet browser, on the same device, without clearing any cookies, you should only be required to sign in once every six months.

(ie, if you used Safari to sign in to the website, then you clicked on the link in your email, but the settings in your device opened the link in a Chrome browser window, you will need to sign in again.)
I signed up & paid on my mobile, I opened the website in a browser within my email app, and not on a web browser app. For future log-ins, how can I access the website on a web browser app instead?
Some email apps allow people to open links within their app, and as long as you don't open it in a web browser app, that browser will not automatically pick up your sign in session. To prevent this for future log ins, you need to choose to open the link in a web browser app. Please redo the sign in process via your web browser app.

News & Bulletin

What is the ‘News’ section on the digital platform?
The ‘News’ section features reports and photos of key local, national and international SGI activities and events.
What will happen to the bulletin that was emailed out to members?
In January 2024, the ‘News’ section of our digital platform will replace the need for the Bulletin and you will no longer receive the PDF by email.
Should we still send in reports and photos of local activities?
Please continue to send through your reports and photos. However, in future, we would like to highlight more ‘outward-looking’ activities, both at a local level and nationally. This could include, for example, interfaith activities, BAM (Buddhist Action Month), COP or other local environmental activities, Peace Proposal lectures and school talks.

With regards to other activities, we would like to invite you to now send in photos. We will try to feature as many of these as we can with a small caption, so that we can still get a flavour of the full range of activities we are doing across the country.

Please submit your news and photos via this online form – bit.ly/bulletinreport
How will I know when the ‘News’ section is updated with new content? Will the digital platform or SGI-UK send out alerts or notifications?
When you sign up to the digital publication website, you are registering to receive email updates. However, if you do not want to receive these emails then go to the Accounts section and turn off this option. SGI-UK will send out a regular email newsletter with the latest posts to subscribers who have this option turned on.
Will everything that was on the Bulletin move to the digital platform?
We are aiming to share the range of SGI-UK activities that we do on the site, though as mentioned above, we would like to focus more on the type of activities where we engage with the wider community.
